Pray Like Elijah Did

Have you ever read through the stories of the great prophets in the Bible and looked at them almost like untouchable superheroes?

When you read through Elijah’s miracles, you can easily count him as someone different and special. But what if you were able to be a conduit for miracles like Elijah was?

In James 5, it says that “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours.” Remember, the only thing that made Elijah different from you and me was that he submitted himself to the power of the Holy Spirit and allowed Him to work through him!

What was one of his secrets? “He prayed EARNESTLY”!

Many times, my prayers are really just complaints. I bring my problems to God, vent to Him, and then take the reins back into my hands to try to figure things out.

With true prayer, we’re aligning our requests to the will of the Lord. We’re commanding that “Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” Elijah understood this principle, prayed in agreement with God, and was able to control the weather system!
