Daily Bible Reading – March 2023, "God’s Saving Word: Prayer"ਨਮੂਨਾ

March 28
Introduction
The theme of this psalm is that God knows us completely. From the “heaven” to the “world of the dead”—the two most distant places in the universe—there is nowhere we can go that is beyond the scope of God’s care. God is present from creation through death and knows all things.
Scripture Reading
Psalm 139
Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 139:23
Examine me, O God, and know my mind; test me, and discover my thoughts.
Reflect
This psalm provides a reassuring sense of being known by God. God’s knowledge of us transcends temporal (earthly) limitations. Reread verse 7. What are your thoughts about these two questions posed by the psalm writer? How do you feel about being examined and known by God?
Pray
You have looked deep into my heart, Lord, and you know all about me. You know when I am resting or working, and from heaven, you discover my thoughts. Don’t let me follow evil ways, but guide me in the way of your everlasting love. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Psalm 141: An evening prayer.
