Discover Jesus as the Standard for Masculinityਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 2 Jesus Is Diligent
One of the hallmarks of anyone who has mastered their craft is diligence. To be diligent is defined as one who shows care in their work. It also carries the meaning of movement with decisive action and determination. In the Bible, the term 'diligence' strongly correlates with work.
We all progress through seasons in our lives, and each season prepares us for the next. We learn and become something that will take us into the next season of life with more authority. Jesus was in His season of obscurity while mastering His trade. His work as a builder prepared Him for His public ministry.
I define diligence as the consistent movement towards your goal despite your feelings. To reach our goals, master our craft and fulfill our assignments, we cannot allow our emotions to lead us. We are being diligent by taking action despite our present circumstances or feelings.
Jesus defends His 'yes' to His Father with 'no's' to other things. Accepting His mission is mandatory; He denies anything that can take Him away from His purpose. He had to say 'no' to say 'yes.' It is the same for you.
A correlation between diligence, work, and faith pleases God. "But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6).
- List one prioritized goal you are saying 'yes' to in your life now.
- What do you have to say 'no' to so you can defend your 'yes'?
