LENT - a Journey for Teens: The Places We Goਨਮੂਨਾ

Complaining
A natural reaction for us as humans when something doesn’t work out the way we wanted it to, is to complain.
It’s even sometimes seen as “to be informed”.
But by complaining we actually say:
“I deserve something better.”
“I know better.”
“I am a victim.”
Paul tells the Phillippians to do EVERYTHING without complaining.
Even the slaves are encouraged to let go of complaining.
This does not mean that we should just accept everything and be left to our own devices. But to know there IS one who knows best.
Exercise:
Ask yourself: Do I sometimes complain to gain the sympathy of others?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I ask for the grace to let go of my complaining. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

About this Plan

This Lent plan invites you to face that which you so easily avoid - your humanity, your brokenness, your sadness and disappointments. For the next 40 days, we will embark on an adventure filled with some alone time, prayer and fasting. Each day will provide a scripture, a guide, an exercise and a grace prayer which you can pray throughout your day.
