Preparing for Marriageਨਮੂਨਾ

When You’re Up to Your Eyeballs
Weddings aren’t for the faint of heart. The ceremony may be beautiful, but planning a wedding can ruin a marriage before it even starts. Endless details and mounting expenses can frustrate and divide a couple.
In one national survey, most couples admitted to arguing about their wedding plans. Money topped the list of disagreements—notably, the cost of the wedding dress and flowers. Mothers-in-law were also a common source of disagreement, as were seating charts and wedding cake styles. Conflicted couples planning their wedding are not the only ones who struggle. Stress can take its toll on any relationship when facing many decisions and financial costs.
If you and your beloved are up to your eyeballs in planning your wedding, remember two things: First, think of this as our wedding. Your ultimate goal is for both of you to love your wedding day.
Second, as memorable as you hope your wedding will be, remember that it’s only the first day of your new journey together. Don’t start off your marriage placing more importance on the wedding than your relationship. If you keep the right things in focus, your wedding will be the first day of a lifetime of happiness together.
Lord, help us clothe ourselves with Your love, compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience as we plan our wedding and lives together.
