The Gospels - Miraclesਨਮੂਨਾ

After Jesus died on the cross, He was placed into a tomb. A tomb is a bit like a cave in the side of a rock or mountain. Jesus’ body was placed in the tomb and a heavy stone was rolled over the opening to seal it tightly shut, then guards stood watch outside the tomb.
In the Gospels, we read that Jesus had power over death when He raised people from the dead: His friend Lazarus, Jarius’ daughter and the son of the widow in Nain. These stories are real, and they are amazing, but Jesus really showed His incredible power over death, when three days after He died on the cross, He defeated His own death and rose again.
The Bible tells us that some women took some spices and went to Jesus’ tomb. There they found the stone had been rolled away. They couldn’t find Jesus’ body. Then two angels appeared and told the women that Jesus was not there. He had risen!
They didn’t expect that the tomb would be empty. Jesus defeated sin when He took the punishment in our place, dying on the cross. He defeated death when He rose again!
