On the Flip Sideਨਮੂਨਾ

What is love? It feels like such a simple question, doesn't it? Some say love is a feeling, others say it's an action. Some people get more specific and say that love is spending money on someone or spending time with them. With so many love songs written, we sure are confused about what love is!
Jesus clears things up for us when he says there's no greater love than laying down your life for a friend. No greater love! Love is what Jesus did as he humbled himself — not just a warm, fuzzy feeling. Jesus became a human and got close to our own mess and chaos. Jesus did this to set the ultimate examples of love. A love that seeks the good of others. To love God is to love others — and if we don't love others, are we really loving God?
Who can you show love to today? Is it possible to show love to someone you have difficulty getting along with?

About this Plan

Jesus wasn’t exactly known for telling people what they wanted to hear. Jesus didn’t give feel-good sermons. He flipped people’s ideas about God, the world, and themselves upside down — usually in uncomfortable ways. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll compare how Jesus challenged the religious leaders and what God says in the Old Testament on what’s wrong or right, good or bad, and just or unjust.
