Haloਨਮੂਨਾ

Have you ever looked forward to a chill Saturday booked with plans to do absolutely nothing . . . only for your parents to wake you up in the morning, ready to clean? Maybe it gets under your skin until you smell a week-old slice of pizza rotting under the piles of clothes on your bedroom floor. Suddenly, you decide your interrupted plans just might be worth it!
How could the disciples leave everything they had to follow Jesus? Better yet, why did they leave everything they had to follow Jesus? In the Book of Luke, Jesus does something radical! As he's in the temple with people from his hometown, he stands up and reveals to them that he's the Son of Man, God in human form! Jesus reads word for word from the scroll of Isaiah and begins to share that this is no longer something they have to hope for, but it is happening right now. Right before their eyes!
What do you think this news meant at that moment for all who heard? Do you think it would be easy to accept?

About this Plan

It wouldn’t be Christmas without angels! You’ll find them everywhere this Christmas season. They’re on Christmas trees, ornaments, greeting cards, carols, movies, and nativity sets. They’re all over the pages of Scripture, too. That’s because angels played an important role in the very first Christmas. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll discover why angels were and still are so important in the Christmas story.
