Faith isn’t a “one and done” decision: It’s a lifelong journey that often includes challenges. As we wrestle with questions and face struggles, it’s important to remember who God is and why we can trust him, even when life is hard.

The Bible describes God as a loving, compassionate Father. And just like an earthly parent protecting and caring for his young children, sometimes he knows what is best for us better than we do. As the Psalmist says, God wants to fill our lives with good things. He wants to satisfy our desires in the best way possible.

When it comes to struggles in gender identity or sexuality, it can be tempting to believe that you know how best to define your happiness and satisfaction. But would you trust that God knows and wants what is best for you, even if you aren’t feeling it right now? As you read these verses, ask God to fill you with confidence of God’s great love for you.

Reflection Questions:

• Have you ever felt like God was far off or angry with you? How do these verses change your perception of God? Talk to God and ask him to fill you with confidence in knowing you are his deeply loved child.
• Do you find it easy or difficult to obey God’s instructions? Is there a desire or hope you’re clinging to that you need to surrender to God? Trust that God’s dream for your life is greater than anything you think will satisfy, and ask him to help you believe it!
