First Thoughts | John Ortbergਨਮੂਨਾ

Try Softer
Today’s thought: You don’t have to try so hard. Jesus put forth the ultimate effort so that you don’t have to.
What a gift.
As you go through this devo, be filled with peace. Remind yourself that it’s by His grace alone that we persevere. We don’t get stronger from simply trying harder or pushing longer. It’s simply by being faithful and obedient that we flourish. We carry on by trying softer, which is the title for today’s message.

Three questions for you while you dive in:
Can you think of a time you white-knuckled your way through a project? Is there any area of life that feels similar?
Control is the master addiction. Are you an addict?
Today, how can you try softer? How can you rework your daily rhythms so that you can have even more faith?
