How to Survive the Storms of Lifeਨਮੂਨਾ

Jesus Takes His Disciples Into the Storm
“And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling.” (Mark 4:37)
By crossing the Sea of Galilea at night, Jesus brings His disciples into a situation that puts their faith to the test. Some of these men are seasoned fishermen. They have a lot of experience with boats, water and storms. But they cannot get this situation under control. They are powerless in the face of the raging natural forces.
Jesus has everything under control. He knows exactly what His disciples are going through. He uses this storm to teach them some important lessons. He still does so, in our lives as well. When we faithfully follow Jesus, we are not kept from storms in our lives. Our certainties can suddenly fall away: our financial situation, our health, the upbringing of our children... All of that can be called into question. The Lord God wants to use such difficult situations to teach us valuable lessons. He wants us to become more like Him, and uses storms in our lives to bring that about.
Have you ever experienced such a figurative storm? Did it change you?
