Pursuing the Call: A Plan for New Missionariesਨਮੂਨਾ

One of the biggest hurdles that missionaries face in raising financial support is recognizing the legitimacy of their fundraising efforts. They are often embarrassed to ask for donations and feel like a charity case. Broaching the topic of need for financial support feels awkward when talking to potential supporters. In one of my first phone calls, I stumbled over my words so much that the person on the other end stopped me and said, “Danny, whatever it is you’re gonna say, just say it.”
Oftentimes, raising support is awkward because we have never thought about a theology of fundraising. As you read today's reading, consider how full-time ministers were often supported in the Bible.
