Hear It Againਨਮੂਨਾ

God wants us to talk to him not just when we are thankful; he wants to hear from us when we are angry, upset, jealous, frustrated, or afraid. Sometimes we can associate worship to only when we are happy and thankful. Worship is a way to talk to God in those moments, but also in the moments we feel really far or disconnected from him. Song lyrics can not only be sung as declaring truth, but also as a prayer when you are struggling. We can be so caught up in our negative feelings that we lose the words we want to say to God. Worship songs can lead and guide us through those moments of loss of words. Allow songs to not only be a moment of singing praise, but also a time to sing out to God when you are struggling. He is there waiting for us, ready to hear us and comfort us.
Challenge: Try to write your own song expressing your emotions to God. Be honest - tell God how you are currently feeling in the lyrics and allow your anger, frustration, sadness, and pain to be seen. Check out “Graves into Gardens” by Elevation!

About this Plan

What does worship mean to you- singing the words on the screen during church or following what the worship leader does so you can fit in with the people around you? Worship is less about what we do, and more about why we do the things we do.
