Billy Graham on Moneyਨਮੂਨਾ

Money and your heart
“Tell me what you think about money, and I will tell you what you think about God, for these two are closely related. A man’s heart is closer to his wallet than anything else.”
I have also heard it said like this, “Don’t tell me where your priorities are. Show me where you spend your money and I’ll tell you what they are.” –James W. Fric
Both quotes likely inspired by Matthew 6:21:
“For where your treasure is, there your heart is also.”
So if our hearts and wallets are so deeply interconnected, how can we make sure we are moving in the right direction?
We pray. Because Psalm 44:21 tells us that “He knows the secrets of our hearts.”
Even when we can’t see the depths of what is in our hearts, God can.
So today, let’s start with a simple prayer...
God, like David, I ask that You would search me and know my heart and point out anything in me that offends You and that You would create in me a pure heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
