Make Room for God

Life is full. There’s no getting away from it. Studies, work, hobbies, time with family and friends - there are so many things which occupy our time and our minds. Thankfully the Lord is really patient with us. Did you know that he desires to take centre stage in our hearts and lives?

This Psalm has an interesting focus - how not to live your life! Let’s have a look at verse 4;

“In his pride the wicked man does not seek him;
in all his thoughts there is no room for God.”

Pride is one of the things that can keep us from seeking God. We fool ourselves by saying “Nothing will ever shake me... No one will ever do me harm” (v. 6). That is just not true! Circumstances can shake us, and unfortunately people will do us harm. But we see here that God is the helper and defender of the fatherless and the oppressed. He sees us, hears us, and encourages us. The Lord reigns for ever and ever. Make room for Him today.
