What a Beautiful Nameਨਮੂਨਾ

What a beautiful name the name of Jesus is. It's not beautiful because of how it sounds or when it's handwritten in intricate calligraphy. It's beautiful because of who it belongs to - our Saviour Jesus. Jesus’ name is not only beautiful, it's powerful. We sing, "What a powerful Name it is, what a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus." The name of Jesus isn't powerful as if it's a magic word that makes things happen. The name of Jesus is powerful because of who it belongs to. When we think about Jesus, it's not that Jesus has power, but Jesus IS power. Just like God doesn't just 'have love', God IS love. Jesus doesn't borrow His power from an outside source, Jesus IS power.

Jesus showed His power when He calmed the storm, fed 5,000, healed the sick, and when He defeated death itself and rose again. His name is above any other name, more powerful than anything on earth.

When we pray, we often finish by saying, "In Jesus' name, Amen". We don't say it to add a 'full stop' to the end of our prayers. We pray this way because we're praying in the power of Jesus' name! Jesus our King, Christ, and Saviour is alive, and the same power that raised Him from the dead lives in us.
