Bible in a Yearਨਮੂਨਾ

Next up is the book of Lamentations, also written by Jeremiah, who was known as the “weeping prophet” for how much his heart breaks for Israel.
-Lamentations is a collection of 5 poems, each written in an acrostic pattern. Each poem starts with the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and then proceeds through the alphabet throughout the poem.
-Lamentations is Hebrew poetry, written in chiastic structure. This means that the big idea of the narrative is placed in the middle, not at the end. Don’t be discouraged at the seemingly hopeless ending of Lamentations chapter five; find comfort in the reassuring merciful nature of God described in chapter three.
