Be Still and Be Happy: Devotions for Womenਨਮੂਨਾ

Longing for God
When David wrote Psalm 27:4 many years before Christ’s coming, the temple or tabernacle was the place where God’s presence dwelled. David isn’t referring to his desire to be present in the temple. He is expressing his love for the Lord and his desire to be aware of God’s presence at all times.
David went beyond asking for anything God can provide; he expressed his heart’s longing simply for God himself. Psalm 16:11 says that God’s presence is where we experience abundantly satisfying joy. As God’s children, we always have a home with our heavenly Father, and we long for the day when we will see him face to face. Contemplate the beauty of the Lord and all his wonderful attributes. Pour out your love and worship to Him and be filled with joy in his presence.
Good Father, you are beautiful and perfect in all your ways. I take delight in knowing you and being near you.
