Growing in Christ ਨਮੂਨਾ

BEING OLD IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING MATURE
1 Corinthians 13:11-12
“Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature. “(1 Corinthians 14:20)
Everyone will grow old, but everyone needs to make an effort, try, and work hard to become an adult. We should realize that maturity is a person's quality of life towards himself, others, and life. However, many people unknowingly fail to understand true maturity and fall into false maturity.
False maturity is a social upheaval in adolescents and young people who want to be respected by others as adults. As a result, the teenager and the young man do adult things (which usually tend to be negative), such as smoking, speeding, and promiscuity.
This false maturity occurs because of:
1. The feeling of being unappreciated in the family, always considered as a child
2. Influence of negative relationship
3. Influence of the things they read and watch
4. The assumption that maturity is synonymous with freedom
5. The feeling of inferiority, etc.
Apostle Paul said to the young Timothy, “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12). Have the confidence to be a role model in your youth. Do not just grow old, but try to become mature.
Reflection:
1. Answer honestly according to your current situation. Are you spiritually mature? Explain your answer!
2. Do you still harbor falsehoods in your maturity? If so, mention it and explain why you still have it!
Application:
Learn to be a role model in your words, conduct, and purity.
