John 1-3: A 12-Day Reading Plan ਨਮੂਨਾ

Jesus made it clear: If we love Him, we will obey Him—not because we are forced to—but because we want to. When we truly love God, our desires start to align with His will for our lives. We begin to want the same things He wants and have a desire to live a life that brings Him glory. It doesn’t mean we will be perfect— far from it. Jesus is the only One who is without sin. But if we love Jesus, we will experience a desire to obey His Word and will feel conviction when we disobey Him. The author of Psalm 119 wrote:
Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end.
Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart.
Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it.
PSALM 119:33-35
These words by the psalmist were not written by a man who considered God’s commands to be burdensome. On the contrary, he delighted in it (v. 35). Jesus and His Word are so interconnected that we can’t love one and disregard the other. If we love Jesus, we will obey His Word.
What might it mean if someone claims to love Jesus, but habitually lives a lifestyle that disregards His Word?
