Discussion Questions:
1. How has God been speaking to you through this week's Bible readings? What are some things that stuck out to you? What are some things you have learned?
2. Read Psalm 105:16-22
It took many years for the fulfillment of Joseph's dreams to take place. Can you recall a time in your life where you were waiting on God to fulfill a promise he had given you? What was that season of waiting like for you? What are some things that we can learn from this type of waiting period?
3. Read Genesis 40:9-23,
Joseph was forgotten in prison by someone who should have felt indebted to him. How do you think Joseph felt when he realized the chief cupbearer had forgotten about him? What advice would you give to someone who needs to forgive a person who has disappointed them?
4. Joseph suffered rejection, false accusation, and imprisonment. What do you think kept Joseph from becoming bitter? What are the fruits of bitterness and anger, and how can we guard ourselves against having them enter our lives?
5. Read Genesis 42:18-24
Joseph's brothers had to conceal their crime for more than 20 years. What are some of the physical, mental, and emotional effects of hidden sin? What advice would you give to someone dealing with guilt from their past?
6. Read Genesis 50:15-21
Joseph faced many difficult experiences in his life. Share a time when God used a setback in your life to prepare you for your future?
