Mark: Living the Way of Jesus in the Worldਨਮੂਨਾ

First Thought
Having taught about the least in the kingdom of God, Jesus is confronted by a man who would appear to have a lot to offer the kingdom of God - a rich young man, a man with power. He was a faithful keeper of God’s law. Jesus loved him. The young man’s question to Jesus, this ‘good teacher’ whom he respected, was about eternal life. He wanted to be sure that he would be part of the age to come when God would renew the whole world, but Jesus’ answer wasn’t what he’d expected or hoped for, and he went away disappointed. For Jesus had invited him to give away all that he had and then follow Him. The young man was unable to do that. His wealth had become his idol and it stood in the way of trusting Jesus in all. Wealth may or may not be your idol, but if you were in conversation with Jesus, what might He point to that you’re depending on in place of Him?
What Does the Bible Say?
‘All things are possible with God’, Jesus declares. How does this encourage you as you seek to put Jesus first?
Living it Out
What is Jesus inviting you to release your grip on to trust Him more deeply?
Responding in Prayer
Powerful God, you can do that which is impossible for human beings. Help me release my grip on things that prevent me from following Jesus in all (…). Amen.
