Too Stressed to Feel Blessed - When Rush & Hurry Steal Your Joyਨਮੂਨਾ

Lots of Stuff But Still Anxious
Did you ever get tired of your weird aunt at family reunions asking you what you wanted to be when you grew up? Maybe you could answer that question pretty quickly. “I want to be a nurse, an artist, an influencer, or a CEO.” Maybe you had no idea. That’s okay. Most young people today would say, “Whatever I do, I just want to make a lot of money. Then, I’ll be happy.” That is the American dream, right?
Have you ever thought about what Jesus would say to that? When Jesus taught about money in Matthew chapter 6, he told us to keep our minds on serving God. Jesus said that chasing after money or “stuff” leads to a life filled with anxiety and worry. Instead, we should trust that our Heavenly Father cares for us and will provide for our most basic needs.
Are you seeking to build your own kingdom that will one day fade away, or are you seeking to build God’s Kingdom that will last forever? Jesus wants us to live a life of purpose - a life that makes an impact on eternity while trusting that God will take care of us right now. More stuff doesn’t lead to more peace. Oftentimes, more stuff leads to more anxiety because there is more to manage. Jesus lived a life of simplicity, and he is inviting us to do the same.
