Debt: 9 Bible Verses You Need to Knowਨਮੂਨਾ

I never really understood what Proverbs 22:7 meant when it says “the borrower is slave to the lender” until I paid off my first car. I can still remember that bank lobby and writing that final check. And then that glorious moment when the bank teller handed me the title to that old Ford Focus. The freedom that I felt was one of the most joyous experiences of my life. The weight and bondage that was lifted in that moment was unforgettable. I had understood the weight and burden of my debts before, but until that moment, I never fully understood that verse. I pray that as you begin paying off significant debts in your own life that you also get a deeper understanding of them as well.
