Obey

Take heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command Your children to obey carefully all the words of this law.- Deuteronomy 32:46(NIV)

Plenty of times, we instruct those in our lives: our children, significant others, team, family members, etc. Once we lay out the rules, we expect them to be followed thoroughly. Yet, there is just one problem: all too often, we are not willing to follow the rules we've set in place. 

We have this "do as I say, not as I do" mindset. Well, I'm a firm believer that we really can't teach others to obey if we're not willing to obey God. There has to be a demonstration and example given to the people that we lead. How can we demand from others what our own life lacks? Where's the logic there?

Allow your life and the way you live for God to speak louder than any law or command and watch the response.

Prayer: 

Father, I love you. I pray that my obedience would speak volumes in my life that is greater than any sacrifice we could ever make. May the obedience that you placed in me never fade away. In Jesus' name, Amen.
