Resting in His Embrace
Thank you for the privilege of working with you, Father. May I exercise the authority you give me well.
Resting in His embrace restores us. The son’s rags and dirt are covered with a robe of distinction. He is given the status (sandals) and authority (ring) of a son. Yes, there will be work for him to do in due course, but he will be working with his father as a son, not for him as a slave. The far country, where he had hoped to find life, was deadening. He is revived in the father’s arms, knowing he is a beloved son.
For reflection: Are you aware of your status and authority as a son/daughter of God?
