Love God Greatly - Galatiansਨਮੂਨਾ

Paul confronts Peter and reminds him that being born Jewish and following Jewish law does not grant God’s righteousness…only faith in Jesus Christ. Paul makes it clear that attempting to earn God’s approval by following all of the Jewish laws does not lead to salvation.
Only Jesus’ faithfulness has saved us, not our own faithfulness. We are incapable of keeping every single religious law. Only Jesus Christ kept the law perfectly. Therefore, it is only our faith and belief in Him that makes us righteous before God. As Christians we live by faith, walk by faith, and our salvation is in the faith of Christ. The will of the Lord, not our own willpower, must be the heart and core of our thought and conduct.
Have you placed your faith solely in Jesus Christ for salvation, trusting that He fulfilled the Law on the Cross? Or are you still trying to earn your salvation through your own willpower and good behavior? Will you begin to trust today that faith in Jesus Christ is enough and stop working in the flesh to earn His love and acceptance?
Father God, I thank You that I am not responsible for my own salvation. There is absolutely no way that I could follow every law Moses wrote. There is absolutely no way that I could perform every religious sacrifice and celebrate every holy day that the Jews were responsible for. There is absolutely no way that I could behave in a way that is completely holy. Yet, You provided One Way to unite with You, One Way to be found righteous, One Way to spend eternity with You…through faith, belief, and surrender to Your Son Jesus Christ. Lord, thank You for making it that simple. Help me to stop focusing on my prayer, my words, and my behavior and simply rest in Your gift of salvation. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

We are going to experience Paul’s exhortation to the young Christians in Galatia (also meant for us) telling them that all that is necessary – all they need – is the gospel… the good news. Tim Keller says, “The gospel – the message that we are more wicked than we ever dared believe, but more loved and accepted in Christ than we ever dared hope – creates a radical new dynamic for personal growth, for obedience, for love.” And that makes our hearts sing! Galatians summarizes the gospel and what it means to our hearts. This, friends, is life changing.
