Peter encourages Christians to remain humble and submissive to God, trusting that He will elevate them to a higher position according to His plans and purposes for them. When Christians trust God’s love, God’s timing, and God’s plan for them, they can wait patiently for Him to mighty works in their lives. Many times anxiety and doubt can lead Christians to try to exalt and elevate themselves. Christians can find themselves out of the will of God struggling to keep something that they were not destined by God to have at that particular time. A Christian’s focus must be on God’s love for her. By resting in that love, a Christian has the security of knowing that God has her exactly where she needs to be for her own good and for His purpose.
