The Christmas season can be an incredibly stressful time of the year. With all the busyness of the Holidays, it’s easy to lose focus on the true meaning of Christmas, the coming of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. The Christmas at Graystone Bible Reading Plan continues our study through the gospel of Luke and helps keep our focus on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ.

In this 4-week Advent Study, we will look at some of the Old Testament promises of the Savior and the humility that would characterize Him. We will study why He came and the response of various people in the Christmas story, including how we too should respond to Jesus and His coming. The Essential Journey to Bethlehem provides you with one short scripture reading each day followed by a reflection question or two designed to help you see how God promised the world a Savior and then kept that promise. One name simply cannot contain our Savior. Through studying the names of God, we get to know our Savior more fully and spend time adoring Him for who He is.

Matthew’s Gospel opens the New Testament by brilliantly introducing the culmination of the entire Old Testament story. After thousands of years and dozens of generations, Jesus had come “to save his people from their sins” (Mathew 1:21). Matthew focuses on Jesus as King of Kings, who had come to reign on the throne of David forever.
