Je zou zeggen: Wat heeft Israël nu met Jezus? Jezus en de kerk, dat zou een beter verhaal opleveren. Dat is ook het grote verschil tussen Israël en de kerk: Wij hebben Jezus en de Joden niet. Wie rondkijkt in een synagoge of in een kerkgebouw moet wel tot die conclusie komen. Maar als je in de Bijbel leest ontdekt je anders.

Jezus is in de tijd van de Romeinen onder de Joden gekomen en zij dachten toen dat Hij als Koning van Israël hen zou verlossen van de Romeinen. Maar we lezen in de Bijbel dat dat niet Gods plan was. Maar wat is dan wel Gods plan? Wat betekent het dat Jezus de Koning van Israël is? Hoe ziet Jezus’ Koninklijke heerschappij er in de toekomst uit?
