Through the Bible: Lamentations

DAY 1 OF 3

## Mourning Over The Fallen City > See, Lord, how distressed I am! I am in torment within, and in my heart I am disturbed, for I have been most rebellious. Outside, the sword bereaves; inside, there is only death. > Lamentations 1:20 (NIV) Lamentations is about the mourning of Jeremiah over the fallen city, the sadness, and the torture it went through. The pain and torment are unbearable to read about. From time to time, it mentions how the fall happened – because of a rebellious act. How often do we manage to look beyond our pain and torture and look at the origin of it, to see it all started off from one rebellious act? Reading Lamentation serves as a reminder to us that there are bad consequences of every sin, and we should be careful in the ways we live our life. ### Prayer Heavenly Father, I pray that You will help me to face my pain and sorrow in a way for me to grow and learn, from Your love and kindness, from Your justice and righteousness. Help me live my life in the humblest way. We pray all these in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
