One Moment at a Time

DAY 3 OF 5

## Pray for your child, with your child. Sometime throughout the day, take a minute to pray with your child for your child. It can be in the car, at tuck-in-time, in the morning. Anytime. It can be inconvenient to stop what we’re doing, but these “inconveniences” are the good things of life. They’re what we’ll look back on and be grateful for. The disciples thought it was inconvenient for children to be brought to Jesus to be prayed for. They thought Jesus was too busy and had more important things to do. But you know what Jesus said was more important? Praying for the children who were right in front of him. In Mark 10:13-16, “People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’ And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.” Jesus not only gave up his time for children, for crowds, and for individuals, but he also gave up his very life so we could have life forever with him. He always put people first. They were never an inconvenience to him. Ever. As we get busy with schedules and activities, let’s make it a priority to simply pray with our kids. To not see it as an inconvenience or time zapper, but to see it as one of the good things of life. To see it as one of the most important things of life. To see it as not only having significance for our kids today, but for eternity. One-Day Goal: Sometime today, take a minute to pray for your child, with your child.
