Today’s verse tells us that gracious words come from the mouths of wise people. The Bible also says that wisdom comes from God. Which means, if you think about it, that if we want to be people who speak gracious, kind words, we have to stay connected to God!

This is great news! Instead of always just “trying harder” to say the right things, sometimes what we really need to do is reconnect with God. In other words, we need to be people who ask God for wisdom to say the right things at the right times.

Today, ask God for His wisdom in your words. Pray that He will help you speak with truth and grace to those around you.
