Precious And Honoured In His Sightနမူနာ

One of my mum’s favourite TV shows is Grand Designs: a British program that follows different people who have decided to build their dream home. I’ve watched it with her more than a few times. And my favourite episodes are always the transformation ones, where an old building (such as a derelict London water tower) is transformed into an incredible new home. 

This kind of restoration and transformation is a bit like what God does with us. We were created in his image, and whilst never losing this, we were tainted by sin. But now, as the people of God, we are being transformed into his image with ever increasing glory. This transformation is happening by the work of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us. And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is true freedom – freedom from sin, from death, from condemnation. This is cause for thankfulness and joy, knowing that we are free to live as the new people of God, starting today and continuing for eternity.
