However, the Bible is clear that we’re saved and forgiven because of the grace of God displayed on the cross. Jesus’ innocent blood shed on the cross is what paid for the debt of our sins. So naturally, we want to live in a way that honors that sacrifice—but human efforts can’t save you; that’s why Jesus had to come!
