Thank you that honouring the Sabbath reminds me of my limitations and my need of you, Lord. Forgive me for my self-reliance.
The Sabbath is a day for worship and celebration. We celebrate God’s presence with and among His people. We recognise and give thanks for God’s many gifts to us. In doing so we affirm our dependence on God and renounce all trust in our own effort, strategies, and ability to make life work on our terms. Perhaps, if you are new to honouring the Sabbath, spend time at the end of the day noticing what brought life and what drained it, and shape your next Sabbath accordingly.

This prayer journey will help you explore the reasons for restlessness, God’s gift of rest, and how your work – in your job, your home, or your street – can flow from that place of rest and connection with Him.
