Heaven (Part 3)ഉദാഹരണം

Come, Lord Jesus
As we come to the final day of our Heaven series, it feels only right to end at the very end of the Bible in the closing book of Revelation and the final chapter – 22.
Think about it. We know the opening book of Genesis so well, don’t we? The creation story, the garden, the opening of everything. But how often do we pause to reflect on the conclusion of the Bible, the moment where the story of redemption is fully revealed?
Revelation 22 isn’t just a conclusion; it’s a promise fulfilled. Creation began in a garden, and here we see another garden, but this one is perfect, untouched by sin.
The river of life flows through it, the tree of life stands tall, and there’s no more curse, no more night, no more brokenness. It’s Heaven in its fullness and at the heart of it, Jesus gives us His final words: 'Yes, I am coming soon' (Revelation 22:20 NIV).
As I reflected on this, I realised something striking. In all my years as a Christian, I can’t remember ever hearing this chapter preached.
Genesis is familiar territory, but Revelation 22, this beautiful, hopeful vision of Heaven, is completely overlooked.
Yet it sums up everything so perfectly. From beginning to end, the Bible points us to this: a restored relationship with God, eternal life, and Jesus returning for His people.
But Revelation 22 isn’t just about reassurance, it’s an invitation. Jesus repeats it again and again. 'Come.' It’s simple, direct, and deeply personal. The Spirit says it. The bride says it. And Jesus Himself says it. 'Come.'
This invitation has stirred something in me. I think of the moments in my own faith journey where I’ve wondered if I’ve truly grasped the fullness of what Jesus has given to me.
Have I truly opened my heart to Him? And then I think of the people I love who haven’t yet responded to this invitation. That thought weighs heavy in my mind. Especially where I failed to deliver this message to people near and dear who have already left this Earth.
What brings me hope is that Jesus is still calling. The door is still open to my family and friends who don’t know Him.
Heaven isn’t automatic. It’s a prepared place for a prepared people. Jesus has done the hard part. He paid the price on the cross, but He leaves us with a choice.
Will you RSVP? Will you take hold of the gift He offers? '"Come!" Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life' (Revelation 22:17 NIV).
Heaven isn’t about golden streets or pearly gates; in fact, you can forget all the jokes you’ve ever heard about St Peter at the gates. That’s another myth!
Heaven is about being with Jesus. It’s about hope, restoration, and life in its truest sense. His invitation isn’t limited; it’s for everyone.
So, as we close this series on Heaven, I want to ask you a question. Where do you find yourself in His story? Are you someone who’s walked with Jesus for years, but today feels a fresh stirring, a renewed longing for His return?
Or are you someone who’s been holding back, unsure if this invitation is really for you? Let me tell you, it is! Jesus didn’t say 'come' to a select few. He said it to all who are thirsty, all who are willing to say yes.
Heaven is real, and Jesus is coming back. That’s not just a comforting idea. It’s a reality, and the question more important than any is: Will you accept His invitation?
Don’t leave it unanswered.
Reflect
- How will you answer Jesus' invitation?
- Is your heart truly open to Jesus? Do you need to commit, or recommit, to Him?
- Who else in your life needs to know about Jesus' invitation? Could you share it with them soon?
Pray
Thank You, Lord, for the promise of Heaven and Your invitation to come to You. Help me respond to it with faith and confidence, and give me opportunities to share Your precious invitation with my loved ones who haven't heard or responded yet. I pray that I'll never forget or take for granted Your gift of eternal life. Thank You for giving me the hope of a perfect future with You. Amen.
What Next?
Thank you for coming along with me on this journey towards understanding more about the truth of Heaven. I pray that you've been comforted and encouraged by what you've learnt, and inspired to begin a relationship with Jesus for the first time, or to strengthen your existing connection with Him.
Perhaps you're now wondering, 'Well, what do I do next?'
Reinhard Bonnke used to say the gospel is as simple as ABC:
- ACCEPT Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
- BELIEVE that on the third day, He rose from the dead, conquering death and sin.
- CONFESS and speak out these truths with your mouth, confessing your sin and your acknowledgement of Him.
If you do this, everything changes! Your past is forgiven, your present is secure, and your future is filled with eternal hope.
Join the cry of Revelation 22:20:
'Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!'
