Before I experienced the deep love of God...

I thought His commands would be like an imprisoning leash that would tug at me, choke at my neck, and steal my freedom. But I’m happy to say, I was wrong.

1 John 5:3, it says…

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

His commandments would be burdensome if we had tried to keep them without His help. But we could never do it! But when His love begins to work in us, His boundaries become beautiful and joyful! We all fail at times, and He graciously will forgive us.

But when we love God, we desire to love what He loves and to love one another. Gradually, what’s important to Him becomes important to us. If we dare to let His love work in us…what breaks His heart will break ours as well.

Invite God’s love into your heart. Don’t be afraid—His boundaries are good.
