Why Do We Want the Glory?

Let’s be real, there’s a part of us that wants to be seen. We want the affirmation. The credit. The repost. The thank-you. Not because we’re trying to be God, but because somewhere deep down, we’re not sure if God’s affirmation is enough.

And when we start to crave glory that should only belong to Him, we become distracted and trapped.

Here’s how it happens: Glory inflates the ego. It convinces us we need to be celebrated. But the ego is fragile. So, when the glory fades, anxiety shows up. And anxiety starts working overtime to keep the glory coming. Now it’s not ambition but survival.

Glory is way too heavy for us to carry – mentally, spiritually, and psychologically. You can't endure the weight of it.

You can’t hear God clearly when your soul is performing. You can’t rest when your identity depends on being recognized.

God never asked you to carry glory. He asked you to carry your cross. Glory was never meant to land on you. It was meant to move through you.

Reflection Prompt:
Where have you been chasing recognition to feed your sense of worth? How has anxiety crept in to keep that cycle going?

Found Faithful

This 7-day devotional is for those who feel unseen. The one who keeps showing up, keeps praying, keeps serving quietly. Whether you're working a job you don't love, raising kids without applause, or serving in places no one notices, this devo is for you. Rooted in 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 and the picture of the “under-rower,” Found Faithful is a daily reminder that even when no one’s watching, God is. Your obedience still matters. Your faithfulness is forming you. And in time, you won’t have to fight to be seen. You’ll be found faithful.
