Believe Again: Restoring Faith When Hope Feels Lostഉദാഹരണം

I believe it is crucial to understand what you are up against and the role the enemy plays in attempting to destroy your faith in God. Whether by circumstance or what he whispers in your ear through our trials. Ephesians 6:12 tells us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. You have to know that this fight is a spiritual one.

John 10:10 outlines what is essential to help you understand what the enemy is attempting to do. In this passage, Jesus informs his disciples that the thief (Satan) comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Simply put, Satan wants to steal your joy by killing your belief/hope in Jesus so that he may destroy the plan God has for you. (Spoiler alert: that plan is actually to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).)

Do you know what’s even great about having that understanding? Since you know what the devil desires to do, you know when it is the devil versus God speaking. In the same verse (John 10:10), Jesus says that He (Jesus) came that we may have life and life more abundantly! This is not just life, but a life filled with joy, peace, and purpose, directly opposite of what the enemy desires to do. This contrast should reassure you of God's intentions for you and give you confidence in His promises.

In fact, in John 8:44, Jesus describes the devil as a liar and that there is no truth in him. So whatever you have been experiencing contrary to the will of God, or the enemy has been whispering to you, you know it is a lie. When he whispers that God doesn’t care, it won’t work out, there isn’t any hope, or that you are not worthy, you know it is a lie! Jesus speaks life; the enemy speaks death. So when you hear these lies, regardless of what this season looks or feels like, stand on the word and promises of God.

Prayer: Lord, help me adopt a posture like Abraham's so that, even contrary to hope, I can have hope in You. Thank You for reminding me to rejoice in my trials because You are working all things for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
