Living Ready For Divine Appointments

Kairos moments often arrive without warning. Just as the wise virgins in Jesus’ parable kept their lamps filled with oil, we must live in a state of spiritual readiness, expecting divine opportunities at any moment. Readiness is not passivity. It is a daily, active choice to prepare your heart, mind, and character so that when God calls, you can respond immediately. Delay can cost you a destiny moment.

One of the greatest missteps in the modern church is settling for religious routine without transformation. Many are content to attend church services, sing worship songs, and nod at sermons—yet walk away unchanged. But the call of Christ is not merely to attend—it is to be transformed. Transformation is not an event; it is a continual process of growth that requires intentionality, humility, and alignment with God’s Word.

Growth must be contended for. It is not automatic. Just like a baby cannot thrive without proper nourishment and effort to latch and feed, spiritual growth requires active participation. You can be in the right environment and still miss transformation if you are not feeding on what’s provided. Sermons won’t change you unless they are applied. Revelation must be turned into practice, not just admired from afar.

Many believers are caught in the trap of hearing the Word but not doing the Word. James 1:22 warns us to be doers, not hearers only. When we only consume spiritual content without engaging with it, we deceive ourselves into thinking we are growing. True maturity is not measured by how many messages you’ve heard—it’s seen in the fruit your life produces: love, joy, peace, self-control, and obedience.

God is not just looking for gifts and power—He is seeking fruit. While signs and wonders have their place, they are not the highest indicators of spiritual health. Jesus said, “By their fruit you will know them.” Fruit is the evidence of internal transformation. It means something has taken root and is now producing life, not just spectacle.

The urgency of transformation is tied to time. Every moment you are not growing is a moment you could be preparing for your assignment. The goal is not just heaven when you die, but living a fruitful, kingdom-filled life while you’re alive. You are not in a waiting room—you are in a classroom. You are being shaped for a purpose, and your participation in the process matters.

The body of Christ needs a wake-up call. We have glamorized gifting and overlooked character. We celebrate emotional highs in worship but ignore the lack of discipline in our private lives. The Holy Spirit is sounding an alarm: “Awake, O sleeper, and rise from the dead!” This is a season for maturity, not just activity. It’s time to graduate from spiritual childhood into spiritual adulthood.

Transformation begins with surrender. Ask God to “cut through you,” to do His surgical work inside of you until you see like He sees. This is not just about behavior modification—it is about heart renovation. You must want to grow. You must choose to grow. You must contend for growth. It is in this posture that you’ll bear fruit that lasts and live a life that glorifies God—not just in moments, but in your every day. Time equals Life.
