Day 3: Teaching in the Temple

Read Luke 20:1–8

Yesterday, we read about Jesus clearing the temple and immediately reclaiming it for its true purpose - ministry. Today, we see Him continuing His mission, teaching in the temple, sharing the Good News with all who would listen.

But as we read, a striking moment unfolds: Jesus, the Son of God, has His authority challenged by the leading priests and teachers of religious law.

They ask Him outright: “By what authority are You doing these things?” Imagine their frustration as Jesus, with divine wisdom, turns the question back on them, leaving them unable to trap Him.

What stands out is how Jesus remains calm, confident, and steadfast despite the opposition. He doesn’t waver.

Friends, how do you respond when your faith is questioned or even mocked?

If you post Scripture on social media, you might face criticism. If you share your testimony at work, someone might offer their unsolicited opinion. If you play worship music in the car, you may get an eyeroll or a snide comment.

Living as a follower of Jesus in a culture that often opposes Kingdom values is not easy. We’re called to stand out - to be light in darkness, salt in a world that desperately needs seasoning.

And that can feel uncomfortable.

But here’s the truth: the Kingdom of God was never meant to blend in. It was meant to shine brightly, to be a beacon for others to see and experience.

So, don’t shrink back.

Even when it’s hard. Even when the rejection stings. Even when the world seems louder than your voice.

Stand firm in the authority and purpose God has given you. Proclaim His goodness boldly - through your words, your testimony, and your actions. Because blending in with a culture that rejects your Savior is far more costly than standing out for Him.

Keep shining your light. Keep declaring His truth. And remember, you do not stand alone - Jesus Himself faced opposition, and He remains with you as you carry His message to the world.

Stand strong. Stand firm. The Kingdom of Light is counting on you.

Father God,

Grant me boldness to stand firm in your truth and to trust in your authority over all things. May I not be a lukewarm follower of your ways but a bold and courageous believer who shares the Good News wherever and whenever I can.
