You Have Something

Scripture:

2 Kings 4:2 – "Elisha replied to her, ‘How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?’ ‘Your servant has nothing there at all,’ she said, ‘except a small jar of olive oil.’"

Reflection:

Do you recognise the oil you have to share with people who need it? Imagine Jesus asking you, What do you have in your house? How would you respond? Would you recognise your oil?

In 2 Kings 4:2, Elisha meets a widow stuck in an impossible situation. She needed a miracle! Elisha asked her to bring something to the table. The widow initially believed she had nothing to give, yet she did have something—oil.

We often feel empty or lacking, but God has already placed something within us. That "oil" represents the anointing that comes from seasons of pressing and difficulty. The very thing we underestimate can be the resource God uses to bring breakthrough—not just for us but for others.

Application:

Take a moment to reflect: What gifts, experiences, or strengths has God given you? Instead of dismissing them, ask how He wants to use them. Write them down and thank God for them.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the oil You have placed in my life. Help me recognise the oil I have to offer. Use my story, my pain, and my gifts to bring healing to others. Let me never underestimate the anointing You have placed on me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
