Committing Your Family to God

In a world that pulls our children in countless directions and offers them a buffet of beliefs and values to choose from, warfare parents must draw a line in the sand. We must be willing to stand, perhaps alone, and declare unequivocally that our household belongs to God.

This choice isn’t a one-time decision; it’s a daily recommitment. Here are ways to commit your family to God:

• Prioritize God’s will over cultural expectations or personal ambitions for your child.
• Challenge the culture when biblical values clash with societal norms.
• Make tough decisions about media, activities, and influences that may be popular but spiritually detrimental.
• Invest time and resources into spiritual growth, even when you have a busy schedule.
• Address sin and compromise head-on rather than turning a blind eye for the sake of peace.

Choosing to serve the Lord as a family doesn’t guarantee an easy path. In fact, it often means walking the narrow road, facing opposition, and making sacrifices. But it also means inviting God’s presence, protection, and purpose into the very heart of your home.

Remember, warrior parent, that every day presents new battles and new choices. But you don’t fight alone. The God who called you to this mission of raising kingdom-minded children is faithfully fighting alongside you. Keep choosing him, standing firm, and watching as he works wonders in and through your family.
