Do those who hate Jesus hate you?

The Jewish hierarchy loathes Paul. Luke records, “Then the high priest and the chief men of the Jews informed him [Festus] against Paul” (Acts 25:2). What is their request? They seek to have Paul transferred to Jerusalem so that they can ambush him (Acts 25:3). Why does the apostle draw fire from the Jewish high priest and leaders? He answers this question when writing to Timothy. Paul pens, “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). This faithful servant of the Lord endured much for Jesus, as recorded in 2 Corinthians 11:22-33. Both his past suffering and our present persecution testify to being united with Jesus. We are called to follow in His steps.

Employment Point: Please Jesus at all costs and expect the world to also hate you.
