Patience The testing of faith produces patience, which is the hallmark of a mature believer. Only under the pressure of trial can the believer test the true depth of his faith in God. The established heart will not waver, but will rejoice in the goodness of God. We have all been there. On our way to some distant location a little voice from the back seat of the car demands, "How long till we are there?" It makes no difference to that child if the question was answered only two minutes before. He wants to know NOW! He is anxious to get there and uncomfortable in the back seat, and every moment of a trip seems endless. The same feelings hold true for those growing to maturity in Christ. We know the promise of His coming and the indescribable joy of eternity with Him. We also experience the trial of today and look forward to the reward of tomorrow. Be patient! Establish your heart! He is coming soon enough, and His people will not be disappointed.
