 Fall

The time for a change of scenery and the time for a loss of color. The trees lose their covering of leaves, and we lose the comforts of familiarity. God’s whisper seems to blend with the brisk breeze, but as you keep moving forward you’ll feel his presence in what you do. It is the time of change- maybe you will move away from everyone and everything like me, let go of a relationship that is no longer benefiting anyone, a death of someone close, or have a change in career when you don’t find purpose in it anymore. All these transitions lead to a path of discomfort, and there will be times where you fall (no pun intended). But it is in those moments when you lean on God, and the realization hits that even though you’ve lost so much, you have gained a greater dependency on God. Then all of the trials and hardships seem so worth it. These are the moments when you’re at the bottom of the mountain, but you look up at where you’ve come from and see how without God, none of that was possible. However, when you bring your gaze back to what’s ahead, you see a valley with no sign of life or hope. Now get your coats on, because it’s winter time.
