Prophecy of the End Time
1“At that time Michael shall stand up,
The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people;
#Is. 26:20; Jer. 30:7; Ezek. 5:9; Dan. 9:12; Matt. 24:21; Mark 13:19And there shall be a time of trouble,
Such as never was since there was a nation,
Even to that time.
And at that time your people #Rom. 11:26shall be delivered,
Every one who is found #Ex. 32:32; Ps. 56:8written in the book.
2And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
#(Matt. 25:46; John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15)Some to everlasting life,
Some to shame #(Is. 66:24; Rom. 9:21)and everlasting contempt.
3Those who are wise shall #Prov. 3:35; Dan. 11:33, 35; Matt. 13:43shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
#Prov. 11:30; (James 5:19, 20)And those who turn many to righteousness
#1 Cor. 15:41Like the stars forever and ever.
4“But you, Daniel, #Is. 8:16; Dan. 12:9; Rev. 22:10shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall #Amos 8:12run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
5Then I, Daniel, looked; and there stood two others, one on this riverbank and the other on that #Dan. 10:4riverbank. 6And one said to the man clothed in #Ezek. 9:2; Dan. 10:5linen, who was above the waters of the river, #Dan. 8:13; 12:8; Matt. 24:3; Mark 13:4“How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?”
7Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he #Deut. 32:40held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him #Dan. 4:34who lives forever, #Dan. 7:25; Rev. 12:14that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; #Luke 21:24and when the power of #Dan. 8:24the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished.
8Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?”
9And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10#Zech. 13:9Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, #Is. 32:6, 7; Rev. 22:11but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but #Dan. 12:3; Hos. 14:9; John 7:17; 8:47the wise shall understand.
11“And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
13“But you, go your way till the end; #Is. 57:2; Rev. 14:13for you shall rest, #Ps. 1:5and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”
