The Flood Is Real

Scripture: Isaiah 59:19

The flood is a biblical metaphor. It denotes moments of troubling, overwhelming attack from the enemy against a believer's peace, joy, health, marriage and so on. It can also be a moment where nothing seems to be working for you.

Beloved, the pressure from the enemy is not a sign of divine neglect from heaven. It is often the evidence that something in your life has reached a point of spiritual significance.

When the enemy comes in like a flood, his intention is not just to overwhelm your life; he wants to confuse, distract you, and disorient your identity.

Floods blur boundaries. They erase familiar landmarks and make it difficult to know where you stand. This is how spiritual pressure works, too. It tries to confuse your sense of who you are in God, what God has said, and what you are becoming.

But in that anchor scripture you will notice that the flood does not have the final movement. The Spirit of the Lord does. Not by removing the flood. Not by making life easier. But by raising a standard—a stature—in you.

The flood is not the enemy’s triumph. It is the enemy’s ploy to see what your reaction will be. It is his move to test your faith and see where your heart leans towards.

The flood is also heavens signal that something in you is being summoned to rise because something needs to change. No matter how high and consuming the flood is, it is not the enemy triumph; your response determines that.

Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to see pressure not as defeat, but as invitation. Strengthen my inner man. Anchor me in my identity. Teach me to rise in the midst of what comes against me.

Declaration

I refuse to be overwhelmed. I am being raised. I have light!
