Redeemed Purpose
God never wastes pain.
Trauma has a way of convincing us the story is over—that the best parts of life are behind us and what’s broken can’t be repaired. But God specializes in redemption. He doesn’t erase the scars; He uses them.
Romans 8:28 reminds us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” It doesn’t promise all things are good. It promises God can bring good out of all things—even the ones that nearly destroyed us.
Some of the strongest men and women I’ve met are those who’ve walked through trauma and decided it wouldn’t define them. They turned pain into purpose—mentoring others, sharing their stories, helping veterans in crisis, or simply being there for someone who’s struggling. When we stop hiding our wounds, they become a testimony of God’s healing power.
Your story still matters. The discipline, resilience, and courage that once defined your service now fuel a new mission—one that points people toward hope in Christ. You don’t need everything figured out to make a difference. You just have to show up and be willing.
What the enemy meant to destroy you with, God can use to heal others. That’s redemption. That’s purpose reborn in Christ.
Daily Journal:
How has God used your pain to strengthen or encourage someone else? If you’re not sure yet, ask Him to reveal how your story can help others. Write one way you can turn your experience into purpose this week—whether through a conversation, a prayer, or an act of service.
